No technical lift needed for current and future Piano customers to enable SwG
Piano, the leading digital experience and content monetization platform, is pleased to announce its new Subscribe with Google functionality –– the search giant’s set of tools designed to help publishers easily sell subscriptions on the open web. Leveraging Sign in with Google, site visitors who have both a Google account and a payment method on record with Google will be able to subscribe to content with one click.
“We are always looking to incorporate functionality that supports our mission of enabling sustainable revenue streams for the media industry as well as convenient purchase methods for audience members,” said Trevor Kaufman, Piano’s CEO.
“We’re pleased to have Piano among the partners supporting Subscribe with Google,” said Genevieve Brennan, Head of Global News Products, Partnerships. “Enabling one-click subscriptions for their customers broadens the number of publishers and consumers who can take advantage of this important new initiative.”
Piano’s subscription commerce engine, Piano VX, is already integrated with a host of world-class platforms, including Braintree and Stripe, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Amazon Pay, WordPress VIP, Gigya, Janrain, and Zuora, amongst numerous others. By integrating SwG into Piano’s content monetization platform, publishers will be able to add Google’s checkout flow to their existing checkout experience. Using Piano Composer, Piano’s customer experience toolkit, publishers will now have the ability to better target and message loyal visitors within Google's Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP).
“Being a one-stop shop from which publishers can manage their direct-to-consumer relationships is a powerful value proposition,” said Kaufman. “Adding support for SwG is consistent with this approach and broadens the number of tools available through Piano.”
